Every asbestos trust pays a percentage of its scheduled value, and each trust sets that percentage on its own. The figures are public, but they sit on 16 separate trust websites, several of them behind PDF notices. This page collects them in one table.
The reason to look at them together: on figures we read from the trusts’ own websites on the same day, WRG Asbestos PI Trust pays 30.1% while the Fibreboard sub-fund pays 3.5%. That is a 9-fold difference between two trusts a single veteran might have claims against. Which trusts a service history reaches changes the outcome more than most people expect.
Across the full table the gap is wider still, 29-fold between NARCO Asbestos Trust at 100% and Fibreboard sub-fund at 3.5%, though those two ends rest on notices we could not re-read directly and are better treated as indicative.
Figures below are current as of the notice date shown in each row. 5 of the 10 were re-read directly from the trust’s own website on 2026-09-25, and each matched what we already had on file. Trusts change these percentages, sometimes several times a year, so the notice date is part of the number.
Current asbestos trust payment percentages
| Trust | Current payment percentage | Source notice | Typical mesothelioma scheduled value | Who it reaches |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| NARCO Asbestos Trust | 100% (unconfirmed) | trust payment notice, confirmed 2026-07-22 | $90,000 | Boiler and furnace work, shipyard and industrial |
| Halliburton / AOC Asbestos Trust | 60% (unconfirmed) | trust payment notice, confirmed 2026-07-22 | $95,000 | Industrial and shipyard maintenance |
| WRG Asbestos PI Trust, W.R. Grace | 30.1% ✓ verified | trust payment notice | $180,000 | Military housing and base buildings, all branches |
| Pittsburgh Corning Asbestos Trust | 19% (unconfirmed) | November 2024 notice | $250,000 | Navy: highest-exposure pipe insulation |

| United States Gypsum Asbestos Personal Injury Settlement Trust | 10% ✓ verified | 2026 notice | $110,000 | Construction and maintenance ratings across branches, base and barracks work |
| Babcock & Wilcox Asbestos Trust | 4.3% ✓ verified | June 2026 notice | $175,000 | Navy: boiler tenders, machinist mates, shipyard boiler repair |
| Owens Corning Fibreboard Asbestos Trust, Owens Corning sub-fund | 4.3% ✓ verified | June 2026 notice | $215,000 | Navy: pipe lagging in engine and fire rooms |
| Owens Corning Fibreboard Asbestos Trust, Fibreboard sub-fund | 3.5% ✓ verified | June 2026 notice | $215,000 | Navy and shipyard insulation work |
✓ verified marks a figure we re-read from the trust’s own website on 2026-09-25, independently of the trust page it links to; both readings matched. (unconfirmed) marks a figure taken from a notice we hold on file but could not re-read on that pass, usually because the trust publishes it only inside a PDF or a claimant portal. Those are still the trust’s own published figures, but they are older evidence and we say so rather than presenting the whole table as equally fresh.
A percentage on its own is not the whole fact
On the Verus-administered trusts the same headline percentage is applied two ways: as a percentage of the scheduled value under Expedited Review, and as a percentage of the gross settlement value under Individual Review. Those are not the same base, so the same percentage can produce different money.
Babcock & Wilcox states it plainly: the current payment percentage is 4.3% of the scheduled value for Expedited Review, and 4.3% of the gross settlement value for Individual Review. Same percentage, different base. Which track a claim goes down is a decision with money attached, and we cover it in expedited versus individual review.
Trusts that do not publish a current percentage
These are listed because their absence is also information. A veteran with a claim against one of these will not find a number to plan around, and should confirm the current figure with the trust before relying on anything quoted elsewhere.
| Trust | Status | Why |
|---|---|---|
| The Plibrico Asbestos Trust | Not published in readable form | Percentage lives in linked PDFs. The most recent notice is dated August 2024, materially older than the June 2026 notices on the Verus-template trusts. |
| ASARCO Asbestos Personal Injury Settlement Trust | Not published publicly | Verus-administered site; notices are linked PDFs and no percentage sentence appears in the HTML. |
| Eagle-Picher Personal Injury Settlement Trust | Not published recently | No current public notice. The most recent published figure is over ten years old and cannot be represented as current. |
| Manville Personal Injury Settlement Trust | Not verified | The trust’s own site could not be verified over TLS on 2026-09-25: the certificate presented for www.mantrust.org is not valid for that hostname (hostname mismatch), and the bare domain times out. An earlier pass that skipped certificate validation reached the page and found no payment-percentage sentence in the HTML. Either way there is no current figure we can source, so this is published as not verified rather than backfilled from a stored 2020-2024 range. |
| Garlock / GST Settlement Facility | Does not use a payment percentage | Structurally different. The GST Settlement Facility does not apply a payment percentage to a scheduled value, so there is no percentage to report. |
| Bendix / Honeywell, administered by Delticus | Not a 524(g) trust | Delticus is not a Section 524(g) bankruptcy trust and publishes neither scheduled values nor a payment percentage. |
How current these notices actually are
The trusts administered on a shared platform publish readable notices and update them often: Babcock & Wilcox, Owens Corning Fibreboard and W.R. Grace all carry 2026 notices. Others do not keep pace. Plibrico’s most recent payment-percentage notice is dated August 2024, and Eagle-Picher’s most recent public notice is more than a decade old. A figure republished from an old notice is not a current figure, whoever is quoting it.
What this means for a claim
A veteran is rarely limited to one trust. Manufacturers supplied the military in overlapping ways, so a single service history, a boiler tender on a 1960s-era ship, for example, can reach several trusts at once. Because the percentages differ so widely, the practical question is not “what does a trust pay” but “which trusts does this service history reach”. We walk through that on the trust fund overview, and you can work the arithmetic yourself with the trust payout calculator.
Sources and method
Each percentage above comes from the named trust’s own published notice, linked where the trust publishes it in readable form. We re-read the trusts that publish machine-readable notices directly from their websites and compare against what we already have on file; where the two disagree we do not publish until we know why. Percentages are not estimates, ranges, or averages of other sites’ figures.
Scheduled values shown are historical typical values for mesothelioma and are not a quote. What an individual claim pays depends on the trust’s evaluation of that claim, the review track chosen, and the percentage in force on the date it is paid.
