Funds Administration

Eleanor B. Ericson (Ellie), RN, BSN is a registered nurse with over four decades of hands-on clinical experience and a special focus on mesothelioma care. She serves as a Clinical Content Reviewer for Mesothelioma Funds Administration, contributing to the accuracy of clinical-medical content across our caregiver, treatment, and end-of-life resources.

Background

Ellie spent many years at Brigham and Women’s Hospital in Boston, one of the leading institutions for mesothelioma research and care in the United States. Throughout her career she has cared for numerous mesothelioma patients and their families, navigating the complex diagnosis across the continuum of care — from initial workup through surgery, chemotherapy, immunotherapy, palliative care, and end of life.

Nursing Liaisons

Ellie is co-founder of Nursing Liaisons, where she developed and led a transitional care program dedicated to supporting mesothelioma patients as they move from hospital to home. The program reduces complications and improves recovery during the critical window after acute hospitalization — when families are most likely to feel they are managing complex care without enough support.

What “Clinical Content Reviewer” means

Clinical content reviewers help us make sure the medical information on this site is accurate and reflects current standards of care. The reviewers are not the authors of every page; they review the clinical-medical sections and flag content that needs correction or clarification. The legal, VA-procedural, and trust-fund-mechanics sections are handled by Larry Gates (Client Advocate) and outside counsel, not by clinical reviewers.

Senior medical review is provided by Dr. Marcelo C. DaSilva, MD, FACS, FICS, our Senior Medical Reviewer. Ellie’s clinical-content review complements Dr. DaSilva’s medical review — particularly on caregiver, transitional care, and end-of-life content where decades of bedside nursing experience provides specific clinical insight.
